MSM Walsrode
The story behind the wolf
With the wolf in our corporate logo, we honor every day the legacy of our founder, August Wolff — a legacy we uphold with pride while continuously developing it through modern approaches and ongoing investment to ensure a successful future.
At the same time, the wolf perfectly symbolizes the values of MSM Walsrode. The wolf stands for leadership, strength, endurance, and a strong sense of community as a pack animal.
As one of Europe’s leading producers of nitrocellulose, with more than 200 years of tradition at our site in Bomlitz, Lower Saxony, we employ around 400 people and have been part of CSG since May 2025. With our high-quality Walsroder® Nitrocellulose, we currently serve civilian applications such as coatings and packaging printing inks. Under the leadership of CSG, our production capacities are set to expand into the field of energetic nitrocellulose — a key raw material for ammunition production.
In addition, we operate and develop the Walsrode Industrial Park. With its extensive 87.5-hectare industrial site, rail connection, on-site power plant, and a wide range of services such as maintenance workshops and security services, as well as its own training center, MSM Walsrode and the Walsrode Industrial Park combine a strong local heritage with the global expertise of the technology and industrial group CSG.
MSM Walsrode stands for reliability, quality, and regional commitment. As one of the largest employers in the region, we are a vocational training partner for schools in the Heidekreis district and support local youth, social, and educational projects directly or through the CSG Foundation.
